Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bindery Operator to join our team. As a Bindery Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining bindery equipment to produce high-quality printed materials. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate perfect binder equipment
- Monitor machine operation to ensure quality standards are met
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to keep it in optimal condition
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during production
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years or more of manufacturing experience on similar equipment
- Knowledge/understanding of basic math, fractions and decimals
- Ability to read a ruler and understand/use metric system
- Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
- Ability to consistently and effectively work independently with little or no direction and follow up to complete assignments required
- Prompt and reliable attendance required
- Ability to meet deadlines and work overtime and other shifts as required
Physical Requirements:
Work is performed in a factory environment with regular exposure to dust, dirt, noise, and the physical hazards of machinery, plus some exposure to fumes, oils, lubricants and chemicals
- Prolonged periods of standing, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds at times
- Willing to work all shifts
- Safety toe shoes required
- Hearing protection required
Hours: 2nd shift - Monday to Friday: 3 PM - 11 PM
3rd shift - Monday to Friday: 11 PM - 7 AM
Shift Differential of $1.00/hour
