SUMMARY: Performs various distribution functions such as order fulfillment and monitoring and replenishing inventory, working in a supply chain distribution facility.
Receives and processes customer orders, locates and extracts stock items from shelves and storage areas, confirms that merchandise information matches the work order, inspects merchandise for damage and irregularities, packs and prepares them for shipment, and schedules deliveries.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Loads and unloads materials in warehouse and performs a variety of other warehouse tasks.
  • Reads work order, shipping order, or follows verbal instructions.
  • Loads and unloads materials into or from vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools.
  • Proper choosing of the appropriate truck for the transfer
  • In charge of pre-loading all transfer trucks nightly
  • Dispatching and preparing paperwork for the drivers
  • Ensuring the truck is properly loaded with adequate weight distribution
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Ability to lift and carry boxes and materials that weigh up to 50lbs on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to bend, twist, stoop, walk and navigate stairs continually throughout shift.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand carts.
  • This position requires frequent manual lifting, carrying of materials weighing up to 40lbs, moving and arranging boxes while standing, stooping, crawling, kneeling, and twisting
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 5 years related warehouse management experience. Knowledge of DOT regulations not required but highly preferred-- if not trained, training will be provided.
Attention to detail is a must. Forklift certified highly preferred but will train if not already certified. Must be Computer savvy
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend documents in English. Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Must have the ability to write simple correspondence in English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to perform general mathematical functions.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: A valid driver’s license is required for this position. Class A or Class B CDL license is preferred. Must be certified and able to operate a stand-up & sit down forklift.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds. Occasionally lifting, pulling, or pushing 50 -100 pounds.
