The Tournament Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Tournament Director with planning, coordinating and executing successful tournaments and competitions. This role involves working/managing various event management systems.
Planning and Organizing:
Assisting with developing comprehensive plans for tournaments, establishing benchmarks and having a flexible schedule to accomplish goals year-round.
Strategically coordinating with local and regional athletic stakeholders, knowledge of tournament format, rules and regulations.
Community outreach and coordination to assist with increasing the total number of registrations for each sporting event.
Logistics Management:
Assist with the setup and breakdown of tournament facilities.
Coordinate with vendors to accommodate their needs.
Ensure all waivers, scoresheets and W-9s are safely filed in our records.
Problem Resolution:
Ability to deescalate issues or disputes that may arise during tournament.
Provide constructive feedback to improve tournament processes.
Provide tournament assistance to participants and parents.
Qualifications and Skills:
Previous sports experience required, associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of sports rules and regulations.
Ability to work under pressure and manage unexpected challenges.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event management software.
