Unlimited Designs (UDI) is a Utah-based manufacturer in the commercial construction industry. Launched in 1994, UD designs, manufactures Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC), Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum (GFRG), and FiberGlass (FRP) and other architectural products for commercial, educational, medical, religious, and other types of buildings throughout the world. These products are unique because of their moldability, low weight – high strength characteristics, durability, low maintenance and ease of installation.

Quality ControlTechnician Job Duties:

This role is integral to the success and quality of our products. As a Quality Control Technician, you will be inspecting our products in every stage, from materials purchased to pre-production through manufacturing and post-production, as well as maintaining important documentation.

• Visit production plant (on-site) on several occasions throughout the design and manufacturing process to perform inspections, ensuring plans are in compliance
• Maintain awareness of production schedule, including communication with the engineering team, to coordinate inspections
• Perform weekly inspection of materials purchased to ensure they are in compliance with drawings (“built to spec”)
• Inspection of molds based on engineer drawings
• Inspect product post-production to ensure quality standards are met
• Maintain an organized file system of plans, drawings and inspections to provide upon request or audit by third-party certifier

Quality Control Technician Must Have:

• Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines, including shifting between field time in the warehouse and desk time in the office without guidance
• Ability to read design plans
• Effective communication skills with field technicians
• Able to successfully work independently with limited management oversight
• Ability to use and read a tape measure (metric and imperial system)

A majority of your workweek in this role will be standing on your feet. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Quality Control Technician Desired Not Required:

• Prior experience with project management, architectural drawings and/or working with general contractors

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

• Must be highly proactive, customer-focused, trustworthy, and have integrity
• Ability to lift 30 to 50 lbs.
• Practice safe machine shop practices and comply with safety standards
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Compensation:

• $20 - $24 (entry level)
• $24 - $30 (2 years of experience)
