Job Summary

John Tobin Presents, an industry leader in the promotion and production of live comedy events and entertainment venues, is expanding our marketing team to include a Social Media and Marketing Coordinator. The Social Media and Marketing Coordinator will support marketing efforts across all John Tobin Presents comedy clubs and live performances through social media calendar management and strategy, graphic design, CRM, and website maintenance. The successful Social Media and Marketing Coordinator will create engaging promotional graphics, strategically promote upcoming shows through organic social media posts and email, and meticulously manage artist and event details in all outgoing communication.

We’re looking for a confident, self-starter whose first instinct is to search YouTube when they need to solve a problem or learn a new skill. This role is perfect for individuals who wish to enter the

business side of stand-up comedy through a growing company comprised of seasoned industry

veterans.

Social Media and Marketing Coordinator Job Qualifications

  • 1-3 years working in a marketing or social media role, preferably for a live entertainment venue, promoter, or agency
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Detail-oriented with a strong ability to work under pressure to meet strict and fluid deadlines
  • The ability to prioritize daily tasks and easily pivot those priorities when necessary
  • Comfortable working as part of a team as well as independently
  • An eagerness and ability to learn new platforms and applications when needed
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A passion for stand-up comedy and/or the entertainment industry
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Google Suite Applications (Gmail, Drive, etc.)
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours

Social Media and Marketing Coordinator Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall social media calendar for comedy clubs
  • Develop engaging content for all social media platforms including copywriting, designing promotional graphics, sourcing personalized promo clips, and repurposing event footage from on-site contacts
  • Act as project manager in the timely production of upcoming weekly and monthly graphic design needs
  • Monitor incoming electronic communication and address questions and concerns promptly
  • Produce and distribute email newsletters; maintain email database to comply with regulations and best practices on customer data management
  • Assist in the creation and editing of written, video, and photo content when needed
  • Attend events as needed to produce live social media content
  • Maintain a unified brand voice across different social media channels
  • Monitor social media channels for evolving industry trends and best practices
  • Review analytics and create reports on key metrics
  • Assist in the development and management of social media marketing and influencer marketing strategy
