• BA/BS in relevant field or equivalent experience
• Possess process and design capabilities
• Possess the skills necessary to write and express oneself orally in a logical, comprehensive and intelligent manner, as well as good organizational skills.
• Possess the temperament necessary for maintaining amiable relations with various levels of company personnel.

Knowledge and Experience

• Must have at least 3 years’ progressive safety experience with development, implementation and maintenance of Safety Management Systems 
• Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel and Word.

Key Accountabilities

Safety System

• Assist the with the development of Safety Systems, in collaboration with other VPs, the GMs, and under the leadership of the VP, Safety.
• Use the agreed templates and methodologies to methodically document the System Safety programs, composed of the Policy, the procedures, and the relevant work instructions.
• Work with the Keolis team to access best practices and ensure compliance with all Keolis Safety Programs. 
• Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive safety programs and tools to enhance consistent application/compliance with corporate directions for safety driving practices to reduce accidents/injuries in the workplace.

Implement the Safety Management System and Monitor Compliance

• Monitor the newly designed safety management system and ISO standards to ensure best practices in management of change are used to enable each new process to take hold.
• Actively seek feedback on the effectiveness and efficiency of the implemented processes, enabling continuous improvement.
• Monitor the compliance to processes, as defined in the SMS and ISO. Ensure all process KPIs are monitored and reported on, and any deviance is understood and acted upon.
• Coordinate the System Safety audits at assigned locations under the leadership of the VP, Safety. 
• Assist the VP of Safety with leveraging from safety innovations, Keolis’ new best practices, feedback from the users and results from monitoring, audit and safety performance, review and continuously improve the safety systems. Ensure it remains relevant and value add to the organization.
• Oversee the coordination and implementation of changes to KTA’s safety IT tools according to the assigned region, ensuring consistency with system and working collaboratively with the KTA executive team, the relevant GM’s and their safety leads.
• Identifies safety trends within the regions/locations and uses the trend information to recommend corrective actions based on that data.
• Assist with the mobilization of new contracts, supporting the project team in rolling out the KTA’s Safety Systems.
• Support the new locations within assigned region/locations through monitoring and reporting on management of change. Alert the VP of Safety and the RVP of any safety concerns.

Safety Culture

• Coordinate activities under the leadership of the VP, Safety that enhance the KTA’s safety culture. The activities should ensure that safety is the front of mind consideration for all employees and a way of life within the organization.
• Contribute to the safety culture through displaying exemplary safety oriented behaviors
• Ensure a just culture within the organization where all employees are treated fairly and justly and understand their contribution to the organization’s safety philosophy.

Training

• Work in collaboration with the assigned locations’ safety managers and training managers to ensure alignment between the KTA’s SMS and the local training programs.
• Support the development of presentation and instructional training to enhance the competencies of the assigned local Safety and Training Managers.

Drug and alcohol screening: Employment contingent upon passing pre-employment drug and alcohol screen. Also, contingent upon receiving a favorable background check. If applying for a safety sensitive position, it may require a physical examination.
