Position Summary: Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Systems Administrator I – Boca Raton, FL. Summary of Responsibilities include: The Research Computing Systems Administrator I supports the FAU HPC environment and writes short programs as needed. Provides second and first tier support to information technology departments, research groups, and other covered entities who utilize research data throughout the University. These responsibilities include implementing policies and procedures as defined by the University, providing virtual infrastructure, virtual desktop images, server operating system templates and other tools to be used by the covered entities. Responsible for the management of Linux and Windows servers, Linux and Windows Virtual Desktops, LDAP, Active Directory, Group Policies, Hyper-V, SCCM, SCVMM, VMWare, Microsoft Remote Desktop Services, REDCap, Cifs, NFS, SAN, iSCSI, Clusters, and other related technologies. Responsible for the day to day management of Research Computing data centers located on the Boca and Jupiter Campuses. Including, power systems, networking, racks, monitoring, and disposal of equipment. Responsible for management of all operating systems and virtualization technology used by the Research Computing Team. Provide support as needed to the Office of Information Technology.
