Windwave Communications is Hiring a Fiber Splicer (FT) Near Boardman, OR

Windwave Communications is currently hiring for a Fiber Optic Splicing Technician. The technicians assist with multiple aspects of cable installation, which include pathway construction, rough-in, routing, telecommunication room build-out, cable terminations, labeling, and grounding.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist team with installation activities
  • Organize materials, tools, and equipment
  • Proactively maintain job site organization and basic housekeeping
  • Ensure hazardous conditions are promptly addressed
  • Maintain satisfactory compliance with customers' security requirements
Position Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Read, write, and understand English
Skills Desired:
  • Attention to Detail
  • Ability to listen and follow directions
  • Self-motivated and have an excellent work ethic
  • Team player
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
The standard work environment for this position is indoors with minimal work outside and in a construction environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet. The employee may also be required to work in tight, confined spaces. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. When possible, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
