Title: Adjunct Faculty (Pool)

Northeast State Community College is accepting applications for the position listing of adjunct faculty to collect a pool of qualified candidates for upcoming semesters. Adjunct faculty positions are temporary teaching positions filled semester-by-semester as needed. This posting is not a guarantee of an open position. Available positions vary and fluctuate to include classes during the day, evening, weekend, traditional, high school dual enrollment, or Career Technical Education (CTE). Adjunct faculty may be asked to travel to and teach from locations within Northeast State's five county region of Carter, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi, and Washington counties.
Adjunct positions are not strictly online teaching assignments and require travel to one or more campuses. Qualified applicants for the following fields are especially encouraged to apply:Anatomy and Physiology, Anthropology, Auto Body, Automotive, Aviation, Aviation Unmanned Aircraft Systems, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, Electrical, EMT, English, French, Geography, History, HVAC, Machine Tool, Mechanical and Hydraulics, Mathematics, Nursing, Paramedic, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Spanish, Speech Communication, Sociology, Theatre, and Welding (all processes).Qualified applicants available to teach high school students in the following fields are especially encouraged to apply:Anatomy and Physiology, Auto Body, Aviation, Aviation Unmanned Aircraft Systems, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, English, Humanities, HVAC, Mathematics, Machine Tool, Manufacturing, Mechanical and Hydraulics, Psychology, Sociology, Spanish, Speech Communication, and Welding (all processes)Please indicate in your cover letter your availability and interest in teaching at local area high schools.Please refer to the lists below for the required qualifications for each field.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver quality instruction during the arranged time set forth in the semester schedule
  • Comply with Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) and Northeast State Community policies, guidelines, and procedures
  • Demonstrate excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Utilize technology as recommended (prior computer experience recommended)
  • Comply with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations
  • Maintain accurate recordkeeping; use student information system to submit student attendance and final grades, etc.
  • Administer, complete, and return requested surveys and evaluations
  • Notify appropriate personnel of inability to meet a scheduled class
  • Check and respond to both D2L and institutional email within 48 hours
  • Adhere to deadlines for assigned duties and tasks as requested
  • Complete Title IX and VI training and other online training programs as appropriate
  • Follow professional code of conduct and ethics
  • Complete other duties as assigned
Compensation
  • Generally $620 Per Credit Hour
