The Muslim Foster Care Association (MFCA) was established to answer the call of our faith in caring for orphans, by improving the lives of foster children and supporting the foster families who care for them, through community education, support networks, and advocacy. We are looking for a creative social media coordinator to assist our team in maintaining and coordinating the Muslim Foster Care Association’s digital presence. The social media coordinator is responsible for planning social media calendars, creating social media posts, and assisting the MFCA team with brainstorming campaigns to further our mission of supporting Muslim foster children and families.

Social Media Coordinator Responsibilities:

1. Content Creation:

a. Develop engaging and compelling content for various social media platforms to effectively communicate the Muslim Foster Care Association's mission, values, and initiatives.

b. Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and create content that aligns with the organization's goals.

c. Author and publish a monthly blog on the Muslim Foster Care Association's website to share insightful content and stories.

d. Prepare and distribute a quarterly newsletter using Mailchimp to keep supporters informed about the organization's latest updates.

2. Social Media Management:

a. Administer and maintain the Muslim Foster Care Association's social media profiles and presence, ensuring consistency with the brand.

b. Monitor social media trends, track engagement metrics, and implement strategies to increase visibility and reach.

c. Implement a schedule for weekly posts on social media platforms to keep the audience engaged.

d. Create monthly communication calendars to promote Muslim Foster Care Association's programs on various social media websites

3. Campaign Development:

a. Plan, execute, and monitor social media campaigns to promote events, fundraisers, and awareness initiatives specific to the Muslim Foster Care Association, including those for Foster Care Awareness Month, Ramadan, Giving Tuesday, End of Year Giving campaigns, etc.

b. Promote and coordinate annual fundraising campaigns, Coordinate with the marketing team to integrate social media efforts with broader marketing strategies.

4. Community Engagement:

a. Foster and grow online communities by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries promptly.

b. Implement strategies to encourage audience interaction and participation in online discussions.

5. Brand Advocacy:

a. Identify and collaborate with influencers, supporters, and partners to amplify the Muslim Foster Care Association's message and reach a broader audience.

b. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to enhance brand advocacy.

6. Content Creation and Distribution:

a. Author and publish a quarterly blog on the Muslim Foster Care Association's website to share insightful content and stories.

b. Prepare and distribute a quarterly newsletter using Mailchimp to keep supporters informed about the organization's latest updates.

7. Analytics and Reporting:

a. Utilize analytics tools to track the performance of social media campaigns and generate reports on key metrics.

b. Provide regular insights and recommendations for improvement based on data analysis.

8. Graphic Design:

a. Create visually appealing graphics and visuals to accompany social media content. b. Ensure that all visual content aligns with the Muslim Foster Care Association's brand guidelines.

c. Create flyers and materials for MFCA events and programs

9. Website Management:

a. Update the organization's website monthly to reflect the latest news, events, and information.

10. Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:

a. Work closely with the communications, fundraising, and program teams to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach across all Muslim Foster Care Association activities.

b. Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for various projects.

c. Maintain catalog of photos and videos to utilize for MFCA events/programs

11. Stay Informed:

a. Stay informed about industry trends, social media best practices, and emerging platforms to continuously improve the Muslim Foster Care Association's online presence.

12. Adherence to Policies:

a. Ensure compliance with the Muslim Foster Care Association's social media policies and guidelines.

b. Monitor and mitigate any potential risks associated with social media activities.

The Social Media Coordinator reports to the Executive Director through the Director of Operations and other regular communication channels. The Social Media Coordinator is evaluated annually through a process jointly developed by the Director of Operations and the Executive Director. Compensation is set at $22 hourly, contract, part-time position.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $22.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Experience:

  • Marketing: 1 year (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

  • Bloomfield Hills, MI: Relocate before starting work (Required)
