ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Customer Service- In accordance with the Bank's customer service standards, provides service at a level that consistently exceeds the expectations of clients and other Bank employees, while maintaining safety and soundness standards at all times. Although not a customer-contact employee, the employee has sufficient knowledge of Bank products and services so that they may effectively support the Bank's Retail staff, effectively participate in relationship building (e.g., sales) activities presented from time-to-time, and refer new business to Retail/Loan employees from family, friends and acquaintances as opportunities present themselves.

Knowledge / Education - Keeps abreast of all published Bank policies and procedures relating to employee's area of responsibility. Must be familiar with reviewing and understanding a variety of documents such as trusts, title commitments, entity documents, land surveys, etc. Must be able to understand and interpret UCC Article 9 and local, state and federal lending laws as they pertain to loan documentation and servicing. In the performance of respective tasks and duties, is expected to maintain knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act regulations and all other regulatory, security and Bank policies and procedures, and comply with same. Completes online examinations on a timely basis, as assigned.

Loan Processing - Prepares loan documentation for commercial and SBA loans utilizing Laser Pro; performs pre-closing review of loan documentation packages; follows due-diligence checklist. Negotiates requested loan documentation changes with borrowers and/or borrowers' legal counsel. May order services necessary for completion of loan process, such as title commitments, surveys, entity documents, etc. Conducts post-closing review of loan files. Funds loan proceeds via check, wire transfer and/or deposit to Bank account and processes bills associated with loan fees (e.g., mortgage filing fees, title fees, etc.).

Daily Processing - May process loan draws, construction loan advances, and participation payments and advances. Prepares transaction entries necessary to balance new loans and correct payment applications to existing loans. May assist loan department with duties including paid loan file processing, incoming mail research, and other departmental tasks.

Report / System Review - Assists in the review and maintenance of daily loan reports. Monitors loan payments, loan draws, participation payments and advances, and interest reserve payments via Director Reports. Reviews various loan General Ledger accounts via Director Reports and informs supervisor of any out-of-balances conditions; assists in investigation and resolution. Reviews Loan Exception Report and investigates and resolves exceptions noted. Reviews/verifies rate changes made to Premier Navigator. Reviews loan data booked to system.

Statements and Notices - Assists with the preparation of notices and maintenance for withdrawn, declined and "closed for incompleteness" loan files.

Correspondence - Drafts and prepares loan related correspondence i.e., letters to clients or vendors, affidavits, etc.; prepares pay-off letters for loans.

Loan File Maintenance - Prepares and maintains loan documentation files. Assists in maintenance of tickler systems in place to ensure timely receipt of financials, collateral documents, UCC continuations, etc.

Provides Assistance - Assists in loan servicing calls from clients. Assists bank personnel with inquiries pertaining to loan applications and documents.

HMDA - Assists in the collection of HMDA data from all loan files (closed, withdrawn, declined and closed for incompleteness).

Performs the above and other miscellaneous duties as directed by supervisor to the satisfaction of supervisor.

Position requires employee to be able to use the following software/systems, as well as any that may be added by the Bank in the future that apply to employee's position:

Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, Power Point, Teams

Internal: FISERV Navigator, Laser Pro, Web Director

External: Lareta Tax, CBC/Innovis, Michigan UCC, Michigan Corporation Divisions, FedEx, DocuSign, Tetra Tech, CAFS, Hubspot

EQUIPMENT: Position requires employee to be able to use the following equipment: PC, copier, fax, printer, scanner.

Reading and Comprehension Skills - Strong reading and comprehension skills that allow employee to properly evaluate documents presented in the course of the responsibilities, and to apply and comply with Bank policies and procedures, government regulations, etc.

Work Independently - Ability to work independently with limited direction from supervisor.

Project Management - Excellent project management skills; ability to manage multiple demands and priorities, and realign priorities, as necessary.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Preferred Education: Associates Degree or higher

Required Education: High School Diploma

Preferred Experience: Five years' experience in banking and commercial and SBA loan documentation utilizing Laser Pro
