POSITION SUMMARY:
The main responsibility of the Mechanic is to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair a variety of equipment.
FUNCTIONS:
- Diagnose and repair vehicle and equipment malfunctions on all major systems including gas and diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, drivelines, generators, rear-end assemblies, carburetors, and hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and cooling systems, etc.
- Perform inspection and maintenance of equipment, vehicles, buildings and facilities.
- Performing welding repairs, prefabricating parts.
- Submit purchase order requests for parts, materials and equipment.
- Instruct operators in the use and care of vehicles and equipment;
- ensure maintenance shop is maintained in a clean, safe, and organized manner
- Requisition parts and equipment
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement
- Previous experience working on off-road heavy equipment
- Welding, cutting and fabricating skills
