SHIFT: Full Time (8 hour shift, Monday-Friday)

As the Life Enrichment Director at Northwoods Memory Care, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents by developing and implementing engaging programs and activities tailored to their unique needs and preferences. You will be responsible for creating a warm, welcoming, and stimulating environment that promotes social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and emotional well-being.

Job Summary:

The Life Enrichment Director is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, facilitating, leading, evaluating and effectively directing the life enrichment staff and program in order to ensure the delivery of high quality resident care and services consistent with regulations and established best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Program Development: Design and implement a comprehensive life enrichment program that reflects the interests, abilities, and backgrounds of our residents.
• Activity Planning: Coordinate a diverse range of activities and events, including arts and crafts, music therapy, reminiscence groups, physical exercise programs, and outings.
• Individualized Care: Assess residents' interests, abilities, and cognitive levels to create personalized activity plans that promote engagement and enjoyment.
• Community Engagement: Collaborate with local organizations, volunteers, and community resources to enrich the lives of our residents and foster meaningful connections.
• Family Involvement: Communicate regularly with residents' families to gather input, share updates, and involve them in community events and activities.
• Documentation and Evaluation: Maintain accurate records of resident participation and satisfaction levels, and continuously evaluate and adjust programs to meet changing needs and interests.
• Safety and Compliance: Ensure all activities and events comply with safety regulations and company policies, and promote a safe and inclusive environment for all residents and staff.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Social Work or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a Life Enrichment/Activities role, working with individuals with dementia or memory loss
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Creativity and enthusiasm for developing engaging and meaningful activities
• Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with all residents, staff and families
• Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for older adults.
