Montreat College is Hiring an Assistant coach Near Black Mountain, NC

Position : Assistant Track and Field Coach Location : Montreat, NC

Summary : The Assistant Track and Field Coach will help oversee all aspects of the men’s and women’s track and field program and is responsible for, but not limited to : integration of Christian faith, and the recruitment, retention and academic success of the student-athletes.

In addition to coaching, this position requires control and oversight of budgets and scheduling of athletic practices and competitions.

The Coach will be responsible to maintain compliance with all Montreat College, Appalachian Athletic Conference, and NAIA rules and regulations.

A.Accountability : The Assistant Track and Field Coach is accountable to the Director of Cross Country & Track and Field and the Director of Athletics.

C.Essential Job Functions : 1.Excellent writing skills 2.Excellent oral communication skills 3.Excellent recruiting skills to meet roster expectations 4.

Efficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Office, Excel, Hudl, Synergy, etc.) 5.Ability to read, understand, and apply instructions and understand telephone conversations 7.

Ability to coordinate different tasks simultaneously about the campus freely (including all facilities) 9.Ability to multi-task

D.Leadership Qualities : closely with the Admissions and Financial Aid office. 2.Articulate a clear vision for the cross country program goals and objectives based on the needs and capabilities of the population served 4.

Articulate and promote student learning and development in the following areas : a.Spiritually b.Academically c.Character d.

Athletic Excellence 5.Prescribe and practice ethical behavior appropriate, recruit, select, supervise, and develop others in the organization financial resources budget for, and evaluate personnel and programs 1.

Oversee the successful recruiting efforts for the track and field program; recruiting student athletes for the athletic team who will represent the mission of Montreat College.

Compensation and Benefits : The Assistant Track and Field Coach is a full-time, benefitted 10-month position. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Education : A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution is required; Master’s degree preferred. Extra consideration will be given to candidates with successful recruiting and college coaching experience.
