We are looking for a Billing Specialist who will be responsible for ensuring that the billing transactions for our Oral Surgery and Endodontic practices are processed timely and accurately. 

This is an on-site job in our Birmingham, Alabama office. 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform billing and collection activities by communicating with providers, payors, and patients.
• Perform insurance verifications.
• Research and examine claims.
• Work with payor and provider o?ces on payment denials, rejections, and accuracy of payments.
• Post EFT, check payments and credit card payments.
• Enter patient’s insurance information in practice management software.
• Set up primary and secondary insurance information on patient records.
• Submit claims to insurance companies.
• Process insurance payments.
• Submit records and appeals as needed.
• Print and mail patient statements.
• Process outstanding claims reports.
• Prepare detailed patient out of pocket estimates.
• Answer phones to service patients and referring providers.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in medical billing and insurance experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Must be detailed oriented, accurate, and reliable. 
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Independently motivated while willing to work in a team environment.
• Follow protocols and guidelines as they relate to patient privacy (HIPAA/OSHA).
