Position DescriptionThe Belly Dump Truck Driver plays a vital role in transporting and delivering materials to construction sites, quarries, or other designated locations. Operating with a strong focus on safety and efficiency, the driver ensures compliance with traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies, conducts vehicle inspections, and communicates effectively with team members.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a Belly Dump Truck in compliance with all applicable traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Load and unload materials onto the truck using the belly dump mechanism.
  • Transport materials to designated locations in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and its equipment, including tires, brakes, lights, and hydraulic systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, mileage, and deliveries.
  • Coordinate deliveries and address any issues or concerns in communication with dispatchers and supervisors.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding vehicle operation, safety, and reporting.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the interior and exterior of the truck.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of and ability to comply with all applicable traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and environments.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work sites may be required.
Other Requirements
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, nights, and weekends when necessary.
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the public at all times.
  • Must possess a Commercial Drivers’ License and necessary endorsements.
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain, current DOT Medical Qualification.
WORKING CONDITIONS Consists of on-site at plants. On-site work consists of activities which include navigating heights, machinery and exposure to elements such as dust, changes in temperature and weather. Required safety equipment will be issued and policies and procedures focused on safety will apply.
Physical/Mental Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Stamina to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces as needed.
  • Agility to maneuver on uneven terrain and navigate construction sites safely.
