The Opportunity
As an Instructional Designer at Econometrica, you will be an integral part of a collaborative design team that includes doctoral and master-level experts in the fields of public health, public policy, social sciences, economics, and data science. A successful Instructional Designer is expected to be creative and innovative and create accessible, high-quality, and visually appealing learning solutions for our clients.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for coordinating and/or designing, developing, and delivering intuitive, engaging, and impactful learning materials across a variety of communications mediums (e.g., web-based trainings, websites, long form reports, videos, presentation decks, webinars).
• Utilize expertise in adult learning theory and curriculum design to work with staff across the organization to co-create learning products, helping to translate technical content into user-friendly designs appropriate for the intended audience.
• Collaborate with other designers, content developers, and subject matter experts to ensure that visual design and adult learning principles are incorporated into the learning materials created.
• Collaborate with our in-house editing and graphic design team to ensure company and/or client branding guidelines are followed.
• Manage multiple projects, priorities, and tasks through effective time management, communication on workload, and delegation, as necessary.
• Stay up-to-date with industry standards, best practices, and software and share this knowledge with staff.
• Contribute to business development efforts by providing subject matter expertise, developing solutions that demonstrate an understanding of the client’s needs, and writing clear, compelling, high-quality proposal responses to RFIs and RFPs.
• Direct and supervise junior staff, if required.

What You Bring to the Table
Position Requirements

• Knowledge of current trends in adult learning theories principles and learning technologies.
• Experience integrating course content into learning management systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Desire to work in a dynamic team environment and the ability to work on multiple projects with a flexible mindset.
• Ability to self-motivate and work independently, as well as work within a team structure.
• Follows through with commitments and fosters mutual trust with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.

Desired Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

• Proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, Vyond, and Articulate Rise.
• Proficiency with WordPress or Drupal including theme customization, plugins, HTML, CSS, and site maintenance.

Education and Experience

• Master’s degree required in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Curriculum Development, Graphic Design, Media Production, Communication, Journalism, Technical Writing, Psychology, or related field.
• Instructional Design degree or certification preferred.

Work Environment
This position is full-time remote, though candidates may choose to work in Econometrica’s office if they are local. Econometrica’s office is located in beautiful downtown Bethesda, MD. We are located at a Metro stop within walking distance of great restaurants and local fare. We have a typical office setting with a quiet-to-moderate noise level.
