Birmingham Controls Systems has an immediate need for Accountant or Bookkeeper in the I459/Morgan Rd area. The ideal candidate must also be capable of managing the front office of a small manufacturing company.

Qualifications for this position include:

5 years bookkeeping experience including accounts payable and receivables,
3 years of extensive Quickbooks experience,
Familiar with Windows PC’s in a network environment and using MS Office, Internet, etc.,
Familiar with operating a copy machine and binding machine for making manuals,
Must have excellent communication, organizational, and attention to detail skills.

Principal Accountabilities for this position include:
Pay vendor invoices in a timely manner
Take all available discounts on vendor invoices
Issue invoices to customers
Ensure that receivables are collected promptly
Record cash and check receipts
Collect sales taxes from customers and remit them to the proper government agencies
Process payroll in a timely manner
Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
Conduct a monthly reconciliation of every bank account
Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy
Issue financial statements to management as required
Provide information to the external accountant who creates the company’s financial statements
Assemble information for external auditors for the annual audit
Maintain all local, state, and federal government licenses and reporting requirements
Monitor office supply levels and reorder as necessary
Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested
