Job Description:

ITU AbsorbTech is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance Team in New Berlin, WI. This individual will be responsible for repairing and maintaining industrial laundry machinery. An ideal candidate will be able to work from blue prints, electrical schematics, operational manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications. In addition to this, the candidate must be able to troubleshoot mechanical devices, and preform general maintenance operations. A successful Maintenance Technician is a team player who values safety as much as the company does – which is our #1 priority.

What you'll be doing:

  • Troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and machinery 
  • Repairing electrical equipment 
  • Disassembling devices to remove defective parts
  • Inspecting potential defective parts to detect wear and failure
  • Inspecting suspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements
  • Adjusting functional equipment and machine parts and controls 
  • Generating purchase order for parts and machines 
  • Repairing or replacing defective parts
  • Installing appropriate machine guarding devices and unique functional and structural parts in devices
  • Testing device performance to assure safe operation of repaired equipment and machinery
  • Performing all preventative maintenance 
  • Completing work order to document all work performed
  • Setting up and operating equipment as needed to perform maintenance and diagnostics

Pay: $27an hour, based on experience.

2nd Shift Schedule: 1:30pm-9:30pm; Monday-Friday. Occasional weekends as needed. 

Education and Experience:

Associates’ Degree (or current enrollment in a technical school) in Facilities Maintenance (or similar) and 1-3 years’ related experience in maintenance or mechanical repair is required; or equivalent in related experience. Incumbent must be detail-oriented, dependable, and have a positive attitude.
