NorthWest Arkansas Community College is Hiring a Financial Aid Specialist Near Bentonville, AR

The primary duty of the Financial Aid Specialist is to produce reports and pinpoint students in need of error resolution, following established procedures, policies, and regulations. This position primarily focuses on processing duties and entails minimal direct engagement with students. The Financial Aid Specialist reports to the Director of Financial Aid.

Essential Duties

  • Review Programs of Study for Load Status report and resolve reactions.
  • Run Cost of Attendance Reaction Review report and resolve reactions.
  • Run Need Packaging Reaction Review report and resolve reactions.
  • Run Inactive Periods report and identify students for cleanup.
  • Run anticipated disbursement report and identify students that need resolved.
  • Assist with SAP appeal processing and moving students through the business process.
  • Review name mismatches on student accounts and provide appropriate clean up.
  • Run scheduled maintenance and cleanup of historical student accounts.
  • Assist with determining duplicate accounts and providing appropriate resolutions to student accounts.
  • Assist with residency review and make appropriate adjustments to student accounts.
  • Provide backup support to other team members.
  • Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary $36,000 annually

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of the organization and administration of various higher education academic

and social programs.

Knowledge of campus and community resources.

Knowledge of state, federal, and campus rules, regulations, and requirements related to

campus academic and social programs.

Ability to coordinate the activities of campus academic and/or social programs.

Ability to evaluate collected information and formulate into recommendations.

Ability to compile information into report form.

Education and Experience

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree with a major in general business or related field; plus one year of experience in student financial aid or related area.
