JOB SUMMARY
This job is located at the Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant under the direct supervision of the Facility Manager. The Operator possesses advanced skills for the performance of WWTP facility operations and maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting relationships, work assignments, and work schedules may be subject to change in order to meet operational requirements. Attendance at work and the ability to get along with the public, supervisors, and co-workers are essential elements of this position. Other duties may be assigned.
OPERATIONS:
Assists in training new personnel.
Uses independent judgment in performs day-to-day duties with written or verbal assignments. Work is subject to review through evaluation of reports and visual inspections.
Prepares reports and maintains records for work unit in accordance with established policies and format.
Must follow the established safety policy.
Possess knowledge of governmental regulations and laws governing wastewater treatment.
Possess knowledge of the procedures used to operate and maintain plant equipment.
Demonstrate an ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
Demonstrate an ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with fellow employees.
Demonstrate an ability to carry out the physical demands of job requirements.
Possess knowledge of governmental regulations and laws pertaining to wastewater treatment.
Attain a knowledge of the procedures used to operate and maintain equipment used in NACA wastewater operations.
May be required to work, weekends, holidays and standby if necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three (3) years' experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend instructions. Ability to write instructions, reports and data associated with record keeping. Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients, and employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts pertaining to the operations of the wastewater facility.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess and maintain an Arkansas Class III Wastewater Operator's License and be able to maintain a valid driver's license commensurate with work duties.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly stand, walk, and climb. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Employees are exposed to infectious organisms.
