Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join our team. As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. This is a key leadership role that requires strong analytical skills, technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to effectively manage a team.
Duties:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
- Conduct regular account analysis and reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and reporting requirements
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure accurate and timely payments
- Collaborate with other departments to support financial planning and decision-making
- Provide guidance and support to staff members on accounting-related matters
- Stay updated on industry trends, changes in accounting standards, and best practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Master's degree preferred)
- CPA certification strongly preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles
- Strong knowledge of technical accounting principles (IFRS, GAAP)
- Proficiency in using accounting software (Sage experience preferred)
- Experience with governmental accounting is a plus
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Previous experience in public accounting is desirable
- Proven track record of managing a team and driving results
