Candidate Attributes:

  • Knowledge of various manual therapy techniques and exercise prescription

  • 1 year of experience in the outpatient orthopedic setting preferred but not required
  • Experience and proficiency in using an electronic medical record (EMR)

Responsibilities Include:

  • Administration of direct patient care under the supervision of a physical therapist
  • Observe patients before, during, and after therapy, noting the patient’s status and reporting it to a physical therapist
  • Use devices and equipment, such as walkers, to help patients
  • Educate patients and family members about what to do after treatment
  • Submits required documentation in accordance with the policies and procedures of the department.
  • Participates in quality improvement chart reviews and activities.
  • Performs related duties, as required.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited college, required.
  • Must be currently certified and registered as Physical Therapy Assistant in New York State
  • Or must have a valid permit and become certified and registered within one (1) year of employment.
  • Previous outpatient experience preferred.

Pay: $64,000.00 - $86,000.00 per year
