The Dispatcher is responsible for dispatching a fleet of fuel delivery trucks. This includes but is not limited to calculating and organizing the next-day deliveries, managing degree day scheduling, monitoring tank reports, completing the truck reconciliation sheet, and completing certain pricing.
This role serves as a direct contact for the drivers. This is a full time position Friday - Sunday . It will be 3 consecutive 12 hour shifts.
Training will be 1st shift; Monday - Thursday)
Essential Responsibilities :
Monitors and analyzes scheduled delivery workload by determining the availability of trucks; site storage restrictions;
trailer compartment size options; supply point options; delivery time requirements; driver DOT availability; traffic and weather conditions, etc.
- Create daily delivery routes which maximize efficiency
- Communicate with drivers to ensure work is completed appropriately, coach as needed
- Facilitates near real-time supply point changes by coordinating with the supply department; maximizes profit and minimizes delivery disruptions by adjusting dispatch as needed
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in logistics, warehouse, or transportation operations
- 1 years with inventory software
- Ability to multitask
- Strong organization skills
- Must be detail-oriented
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Petroleum / fuel industry experience is preferred
