The Beaufort Housing Authority is currently accepting applications for the position of Maintenance Tech II.

The primary purpose of this position is to provide overall maintenance to the Authority’s portfolio and to perform a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of buildings, facilities, and related equipment to ensure safe, sanitary, and secure housing environments for tenants. The duties include carpentry, plumbing, refrigeration, painting, heating and air, and/or mechanical or electrical repair. In addition, this position provides direct support to the Maintenance Supervisor and must possess the ability to work independently. All activities must support Beaufort Housing Authority’s (BHA) mission, strategic goals, and objectives. The duties and responsibilities listed above describe the general nature and scope of work. Other responsibilities, duties, and skills may be required and assigned, as needed.

Minimum qualifications: High School Diploma, GED, or vocational/technical training equivalent and minimum of three (3) years of experience in skilled trade, building/facility maintenance, or other related experience in a maintenance skilled capacity. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. This position requires regular driving for business purposes. Possession of a valid South Carolina driver’s license and the ability to be insured at standard vehicle liability rates is required.

Special requirements: HVAC Certification and EPA Universal Certification

Other requirements: A background investigation, drug screen and physical are required at our expense. This position is considered “safety sensitive” and is subject to random testing.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.50 per hour
