is a family-owned and PGA Member-owned semi-private country club located in the Bourbon Capital of the World. The club has a warm and inviting atmosphere, has hosted many of Kentucky's biggest competitions, and is well-established as one of the top courses in the region.

Position Description

They will directly assist the Head Golf Professional in all aspects of the golf operation :

• Tee Time Management
• Course Pace of Play
• Organizing and Running Tournaments and Outings
• Individual and Group Golf Instruction
• All Aspects of Merchandising
• Staff Training and Development

The First Assistant will lead the golf operation in the absence of the Head Golf Professional.

Qualifications

• PGA / LPGA Member in good standing who is ready to make this their last step before becoming a Head Golf Professional
• A history of experience and success at a similar club is helpful
• Minimum of 2 years experience as an Assistant Golf Professional
• Motivated individual who will create an exemplary member and guest experience

• Oversee golf merchandise, maintaining accurate monthly records
• Provide exceptional member / guest golf experience
• Develop successful and creative tournaments and instructional programs.
• Ensure the golf shop is always clean, orderly, well-stocked, and visually appealing.

Responsibilities

• Understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner
• Conduct new hire training by reviewing the policy and procedures manual and training programs with new hires
• Handle all guest comments and complaints effectively by using discretion and independent judgment
• Conduct random bank audits for the golf shop and food and beverage staff and to analyze and report any discrepancies to the Head Professional
• Conduct random tee sheet balance audit with the tee sheet and the starter sheet and to analyze and report any discrepancies to the Head Professional
• Assist, as directed, to hire, train, schedule, support, review, discipline, and terminate golf staff, to maintain highest possible levels of employee morale and department productivity
• Assist, as directed, to coordinate and facilitate golf programs, including clinics, tournaments, and junior golf programs
• Assist, as directed, to help purchase equipment, clothing, and accessories for the golf shop as well as meet with vendors and help with Open to Buy programs for golf
• Maximize the tee sheet daily for the following two weeks, identifying areas of play conflict or little play
