Job Title: Grant Writer (contract)

We are a nonprofit committed to providing compassionate, welcoming, and joyful support to individuals in recovery from mental health diagnoses and substance use disorder. Our work relies on securing grants to fund innovative projects that drive positive change and address pressing challenges.

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Grant Writer to collaborate with our team on securing funding through grant proposals. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching funding opportunities, crafting compelling grant proposals, and managing the grant application process from start to finish. This is a two year, contract position. Position can be fully remote or hybrid.

Responsibilities:

  • Researching funding opportunities from various sources including government agencies, foundations, and corporations.
  • Writing and editing grant proposals, ensuring alignment with funder guidelines and objectives.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to gather necessary information and data for proposals.
  • Developing budgets and budget narratives for grant applications.
  • Managing the grant application process, including submission, tracking, and reporting requirements.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with funders and stakeholders.
  • Staying informed about trends and best practices in grant writing and fundraising.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., English, Communications, Nonprofit Management).
  • Proven experience in grant writing, with a successful track record of securing funding.
  • Strong research skills, with the ability to identify relevant funding opportunities.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear, persuasive proposals.
  • Detail-oriented with strong project management skills to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Familiarity with budget development and financial reporting.
  • Passion for the organization’s mission and commitment to making a positive impact.

Additional Information:

  • This is a two year contract position with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability.
  • Remote work options may be available, but it is preferred that candidates be able to work within a compatible time zone.
  • Compensation will be commensurate with experience and will be discussed during the interview process. Please note that this is a contract position.
