New Story Management is Hiring a Project Manager Near Baltimore, MD

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business
  • Manage and lead the project team.
  • Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives.
  • Independently manage large and complex projects from inception to closure.
  • Develop a project statement of work (SOW), master project plan, and identify resource requirements.
  • Deliver detailed project planning and control, balancing the competing constraints on the project with the resources available.
  • Maintains open communication between the project sponsor, team members and other stakeholders, including providing direction and presenting the vision of success for the project.
  • Manage the work of consultants, allocating and utilizing resources in an efficient manner and maintaining a cooperative, motivated, and successful team. 
  • Review, identify, and mitigate financial timeline constraints.
  • Demonstrate effective project closure with a high level of customer satisfaction, within budget and on schedule.
  • Configure and implement solutions with a focus on quality.
  • Successfully manage the relationship with the client and internal partners.
  • Define and execute project planning, scheduling, communications, documentation, contingency planning, and mitigation strategies, as necessary.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for flawless execution of implementations.
  • Communicate implementation status, progress on deliverables, and risks/issues to partners and leadership in a timely manner.
  • Identify and act on opportunities that streamline processes, documentation, and overall client experience.
  • Manage matrixed resources to ensure that work items are completed within the committed delivery timeframe, defined scope and integrated with other dependent projects.
  • Resolve cross-functional issues at project level.
  • Manage project scope and change control, escalating issues where necessary.
  • Manage project deliverables in line with the project plan.
  • Provide status reports to the project sponsor.
  • Liaises with, and updates progress to, project board and senior management.
  • Manage project evaluation and dissemination activities.
  • Deliver final approval of the design specification.
  • Work closely with users to ensure the project meets business needs.
  • Define and manage the User Acceptance Testing program.
  • Report on project success criteria results, metrics, test and deployment management activities.
  • Ensure that project and programs are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget and quality standards.
  • Develop, build, and maintain Project Management Informational System (PMIS) tools, such as enterprise project lists, project schedules, project dashboards, portfolio dashboards, and executive reporting dashboards. 
  • Deliver appropriate and effective executive level communication.

SECONDARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and benchmarking state-of-the-art practices.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project and program team.
  • Perform all job responsibilities in a safe manner and adhere to safety practices and standards established by the company.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Must possess expert knowledge of administration of HR Information Systems.
  • Must possess strong customer and relationship management skills with the ability to satisfy customers throughout their support experience.
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Must demonstrate strong listening and communication skills.
  • Advanced time management and analytical skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

  •  Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent, relevant work experience.
  • 3 years of experience in project management.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Experience working with Visio
  • Interpersonal skills to influence and spur change, facilitate and enhance performance within a cross - functional environment.
  • Demonstrate decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions and identifying priorities.
