Job SummaryRepair, maintain and operate industrial equipment involved in the production of cement. Safely and timely performs routine preventive maintenance inspections/repairs and lubrication of the plant equipment.
Job Responsibilities
- Performs all tasks in a safe and professional manner in conformance with plant rules, quality standards and company policies.
- Responds to emergency call outs on an as needed basis.
- Inspects plant equipment for defects, such as misalignment, wear, insufficient lubrication, etc.
- Lubricates equipment.
- Effective execution of the overhaul outage plan.
- Advises when immediate shutdown of equipment is necessary to minimize damage or when temporarily continued operation will have no harmful effect.
- Works out of crane basket and man-lift.
- Performs preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Must have understanding of plant flow and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must be able to do necessary lubrication, using proper lubricants and make minor repairs and adjustments
- Ability to operate heavy equipment.
- Ability to read, write and communicate clearly.
- Ability to comply with all MSHA & CEMEX safety regulations and able to utilize all required PPE.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs frequently – 50-100lbs occasionally, climb stairs, and ladders.
- Ability to work in maritime and confined space environments. Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb and crouch for extended periods.
- Ability to work around electromagnetic fields generated by motors.
