Guided Discoveries is Hiring a Maintenance Near Avalon, CA
- These dates are contingent and could change due to the guidelines from the CDC, the State of California, and County Public Health Officials.**
- Guided Discoveries, Inc. will offer a Travel Allowance and a Moving Stipend (you must qualify for the moving stipend depending on location). We offer one or both once the HIRED Guided Discoveries, Inc. Employee "Starts Working". This will be paid on the first paycheck. There are terms and conditions regarding the Travel Allowance and Moving Stipend. Human Resources will review this in the interview stage.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
- Ability to operate all vehicles related to job description inclusive of Servicing, loading, and unloading of trucks, driving in treacherous road conditions, changing flat tires, and making minor repairs when necessary.
- Cognitive and communication abilities to learn, organize, and implement maintenance thought our camp.
- Possess the ability to communicate effectively over the telephone and directly with staff, and suppliers.
- Be able to respond to emergency situations.
- Ability to drive a vehicle and construction equipment.
- Ability to lift heavy loads 50-100 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders for necessary jobs and repairs.
- Ability to operate maintenance equipment and to know proper safety procedures for each.
- Understanding of the Hazard Communication Plan and MSDS forms as well as other DQ Safety Programs including but not limited to lockout/tag out, confined spaces, respirators, and bloodborne pathogens.
- Assist in general maintenance including carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, window glazing, roofing heating repairs, small electric motor repair, and pool maintenance.
- Assists on repairs to engines and vehicles when necessary.
- Assist in general landscaping responsibilities when necessary.
- Perform manual types of labor as needed to repair or construct buildings and properties.
- Perform assigned preventative maintenance duties on a regular basis without supervision.
- Must have a current driver’s license.
- Must have basic knowledge in areas that include but are not limited to general electrical, plumbing, carpentry, septic systems, roofing, painting, and landscaping.
- Willingness and ability to learn.
- Mature, capable, mechanically oriented.
- Self-starter, with the ability to work well with supervision.
- Ability to take direction from others.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
- Desire and ability to work and live in a camp community.
- Good character, integrity, flexibility, and adaptability
- Must be able to abide by all Guided Discoveries, Inc. rules and regulations and strive to help keep the facility safe for all staff and clients.
- Must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
