Job Details:

Purpose

Assist the Contractor Special Security Officer/Contractor Program Security Officer (CSSO/CPSO) in maintenance of security standards and compliance of requirements set forth in the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual, Intelligence Community Directives and DoD 5105.21 series manuals for a specific project.

Responsibilities

  • Personnel Security: Assists the CSSO/CPSO in performing personnel security tasks including but not limited to: coordinating and submitting program access requests, maintaining personnel files, making required reports to cognizant security agencies, maintaining access rosters and coordinating visitor control/meetings.

  • Security Management: Performs functions to support the maintenance of special programs under the CSSO/CPSO's portfolio. Initiate and track security administrative actions required for by government regulation, approved standard operating procedures and CSSO/CPSO guidance. Assist in auditing and monitoring of local security policy for special programs. Conduct self-inspections, respond to sponsor inquiries and review related documents for accuracy and completeness. Assist PIs in meeting security requirements. Administer compliant security education, training and awareness, and update records accordingly.

  • Information Security: Assists the CSSO/CPSO in performing information security tasks including but not limited to: Document control, security log maintenance and file retention, Incident investigation and reporting, CDRL tracking and management, and standard operating procedure monitoring and enforcement.

  • Physical/Technical Security: Assists the CSSO/CPSO in performing physical/technical security tasks including but not limited to: Maintaining access lists, coordinating alarm response and investigation, performing random inspections, and coordinating alarm testing and maintenance.

  • Other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • HS/GED.

  • Two years providing security support in a classified Department of Defense (DoD), special access program (SAP), and/or sensitive compartmented information (SCI) environment.

  • Strong communication skills, critical thinking, problem solving skills; self-motivated with ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects; and ability to work with people in a team environment.

  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

US Citizen. Applicant selected will be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position. Employment will be contingent on selected applicant submitting application for access and receiving notification of eligibility within a time period to be specified in the job offer. If eligibility is confirmed within the specified period, employment must begin within 30 days of confirmation of eligibility. Eligibility for access to classified information must continue without interruption during employment. Applicant must pass a counterintelligence polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Five years of experience providing security support in special access and/or sensitive compartmented information environments.

  • Two to four years assisting a Facility Security Officer, CPSO or CSSO.

  • Knowledge of Special Access and Sensitive Compartmented Information programs and government regulations.

Salary Range

$67,128 - $88,914 /negotiable depending on qualifications
