The Cedars of Austin is a senior housing campus offering Assisted Living, Memory Care and Independent Living to over 150 seniors in our hometown of Austin and surrounding communities. The Cedars is an over 37 year strong family owned and operated business and we are proud of our commitment to provide quality care and housing to those who have served us so well.
Due only to the retirement of our current staff member, we are currently seeking a full time Activities Assistant to work with our Memory Care residents. As the Memory Care Recreation/Wellness Assistant you are responsible for assisting with, providing and implementing a quality Recreation/Wellness program designed to assist Memory Care residents in using their personal potential physically, mentally, and spiritually to promote an active and engaged lifestyle.
You will enthusiastically lead and engage residents in multiple group and one-on-one activities each day and use each resident's personal life story to determine past interests and to provide encouragement, prompts and hands-on assistance.
The top candidate will be able to work independently, show initiative, engage with seniors, and be enthusiastic.
Experience in activity programming for older adults and individuals with Alzheimer’s/dementia/memory impairment preferred. Certification (or certification eligibility) as an Activity Assistant Certified (AAC) preferred. Must have a current driver’s license, be able to operate a motor vehicle and have a good driving record.

Pay: $16.00 - $17.50 per hour
