Parenting Resource Center, Inc. is Hiring a Child Care Assistant Near Austin, MN
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Parenting Resource Center, Inc. (PRC), a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through resources, services, and prevention education to promote healthy, safe lifestyles for families within communities. The Child Care Assistant provides supervision of children attending Catherwood Home Child Care and is responsible for communicating with the Catherwood Program Coordinator. The Child Care Assistant must be committed to sustaining a high-quality childcare program that values partnerships between families and staff.
Schedule is flexible! Catherwood is open Monday-Friday 5:00am-11:00pm. Looking for team members that can open at 5:00am and close at 11:00pm. Specific shifts available include: 5:00AM-12:00pm, 9:00am-4:00pm, 12:00pm-6:00pm, 6:00pm-11:00pm.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Maintains a program that is a participant-focused culture. The ideal applicant would model relationship-building skills in all children-staff interactions and will foster a climate of innovation and revolve problems to ensure children’s safety.
2. Advocates for children and families by offering appropriate feedback and referrals.
3. Ensures proper implementation of procedures and rules.
4. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations and represent the Parenting Resource Center through community participation. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
5. Provides supervision of children and provides a safe environment.
6. Assists in maintaining a clean facility.
7. Communicates the mission, vision, and values of the Parenting Resource Center to everyone who comes in contact with the program and organization.
8. Has a flexible schedule to be able to cover the shifts needed while Catherwood Home Child Care is open: Monday- Friday 5am-11pm
9. Discipline children positively and appropriately
10. Observe, monitor, and actively interact with children during their play activities
11. Organize and participate in outside activities, such as games, gardening, and outside play
12. Organize and store toys and materials to ensure order in activity areas
13. Sanitizes toys and play equipment
14. Performs housekeeping duties such as laundry, cleaning, dishwashing, and changing of linens
15. Transports children to and from school as applicable.
16. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 per hour
