position purpose:

The essence of the Hair Stylist and Nail Technician's role is to deliver excellent, customized, professional, and caring services to every client. Hair services include blowouts, updos, styling, and deep hydrating treatments. Natural nail services include elevated manicures, pedicures. We do not offer gel or acrylic nails. Our scalp, hair, hand and foot treatments are luxurious and executed with all-natural products. Both full and part-time positions are available.

The Spa at the Inns of Aurora continues to hire full and part-time employees to work at its new elevated salon called Fieldview Studio in the 15,000 square-foot building that is a Forbes 4-Star Rated Spa for 2024. This luxury destination Spa offers a holistic approach to wellness for the body and mind that promotes deep healing and harmony within a luxury setting surrounded by nature. In addition to Fieldview Studio, the building houses 10 treatment rooms, indoor and outdoor hydrotherapy options, and a large outdoor co-ed sauna, The Spa at the Inns of Aurora is truly a destination for both guests and employees.

Responsibilities/Requirements:

• Current New York State cosmetology license
• Easy rapport in communicating with clients during and following appointments.
• Exquisite customer service and deep commitment to ensuring each client’s expectations are met or exceeded
• Passion for beauty and wellness, and motivation to continually evolve and educate yourself
• Excellent hair (blowouts and updos) skills
• Excellent manicure and pedicure skills
• Excitement about educating co-workers and the community about aspects of health and wellness.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be computer literate
• Ability to maintain professional appearance
• Ability to maintain a sanitary, clean and tidy work station at all times
• Comfort with customized post-appointment product recommendations
• Flexibility with work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to lift 25 pounds
• Preferences:
• Experience working in the cosmetology field for a minimum of one year
• Sales experience is considered an asset
