As an Environment Health and Safety Senior Manager will implement policies to ensure a safe, healthy and compliant work environment. In addition will act as the EMS administrator for Sonova USA’s EMS program (ISO 14001).This position will be responsible for both facilities at the Aurora area for Sonova USA.
More about the role:
  • Environmental Management System Administrator responsible for maintaining and ensuring the requirements are met in accordance to the ISO 14001 standards
  • Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
  • Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
  • Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the local company locations. (AODC and 750)
  • Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
  • Monitors compliance with safety procedures.
  • Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
  • Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
  • Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
More about you:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
  • 3 years’ experience in Environmental Health and Safety positions
  • Ability to communicate for written and verbally. Self-starter that needs little to no oversight
  • Team player, results orientation, able to collaborate across multiple functional teams
  • Able to lead as an informal leader across teams and functions to produce results.
  • Lean principles and concepts in Kaizen, daily management, problem solving
  • Proficiency in English
  • Microsoft Suite, ERP
