ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Works in various positions as needed daily in addition to Supervisory duties, with majority of the time spent performing shop functions
  • Participates in production and is backup coverage for absences in paint and blast areas
  • Responsible for day-to-day direction and management of paint team
  • Responsibilities include sorting and preparing orders, pulling product from inventory, staging products, loading and unloading and placing product back into inventory
  • Assists production for ensuring continuous flow throughout the plant
  • Ensures lead times and work flow through the plant
  • Assisting the manufacturing manager with daily and weekly production goals for the paint/blast shop
  • Supervises the daily activities of production and ensures quality standards are achieved
  • Coordinates work schedules, staffing requirements and production schedules with the Manufacturing Manager
  • Monitors operations and processes and provides recommendations for improvements to Manufacturing Manager
  • Maintains effective and timely communication with the Manufacturing Manager
  • Responsible for general upkeep of the building
  • Communicate effectively to employees their responsibility for safety, following safety rules and the reporting of unsafe
  • Ensures established requirements and standards are met
  • Responsible for training and coaching on job functions and quality checks with all equipment in the paint booth and blast booth
  • Inspect and operate a wide range of equipment in the paint and blast booth on a daily basis
  • Responsible for repairs and trouble-shooting equipment issues.
  • Responsible with making sure daily paperwork is complete and correct (Crane inspections, maintenance books, safety inspections)
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS :

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Leadership; ability to lead people with the ability to motivate others
  • Previous industrial painting experience
  • Previous experience with ISO and A660 standards, principles and requirements of the quality management systems and being fully committed to ensuring that ISO and A660 guidelines and requirements are being met on a continuous basis
  • Responsible for on-site compliance monitoring with tracking, reporting, inspections and evaluations with all government regulated activities
  • NACE Certified, not required but preferred
  • Supervision, including employee retention, and assist with performance reviews
  • Great attendance
  • Experience with multiple pieces of equipment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work hands on with the team daily
  • Positive attitude
  • Safe operation of forklift, overhead cranes and equipment used in the paint booth and blast booth
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage conflict
  • Ability to effectively implement change
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Holds quality to a high standard
  • Strong ability to make quick decisions
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot issues and look ahead
  • Respirator certified and able to pass respirator certification test annually
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instruction and procedure manuals
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
  • stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
  • Work in extreme cold and heat; and/or wet and humid conditions
  • Follow safety procedures including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment

  • Paint Shop Supervisor: 2 years (Required)
  • Shop Supervisor: 2 years (Required)
  • Industrial Painting: 2 years (Required)
  • Industrial Sandblasting: 1 year (Preferred)
  • production scheduling: 1 year (Required)
  • maintaining & performing equipment maintenance: 1 year (Required)
