DATA SPECIALIST
SALARY RANGE: $19.75 - $28.98 per hour
This is a 40 hour per week, calendar year position at the CDS State Office in Augusta.
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
The Data Specialist ensures that documentation to seek reimbursement from public and private insurance is present and accurate within the data system, including parental consent to seek payment for special education services and correct assignment of pay sources in the CDS Data System (Child Information Network Connection). The Data Specialist is responsible for collecting, monitoring, and facilitating correction of child-specific information regarding private and public insurance in the CDS database. The Data Specialist is also responsible for verifying parental consent to access those insurances for the purposes of billing, verifying the accuracy of insurance information and ensuring that the information is entered into the CDS database. This individual is expected to support the Case Manager / Service Coordinator in correction of any inaccurate financial data contained in the CDS database. This role will act as a liaison between site and state level staff, including between the data and finance departments at the state level. Finally, resolving parent questions about pay source assignments, including connecting the parent to outside resources, will fall under the purview of this professional.
In addition, this role will serve as a support to the data manager for technology management and communication with the state Office of Information Technology (OIT). This will involve overseeing technology collaboration with OIT.
