Job Description:
T4 Program Summary: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract. Parsons is the prime contractor. This $1.3 billion contract includes a variety of activities that support the FAA's Capital Investment Plan (CIP) modernization efforts: Site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, CAD, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA's nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 400-500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (T5) to Parsons as the prime contractor. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA's Capital Investment Plan (CIP) modernization efforts: Site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, CAD, and other technical services as required. Work to be performed at the William J. Hughes Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey in support of the Laboratory Engineering Branch.
Cable Technician will provide support by performing cable management and installation work. Typical duties to include, but not limited to the following:
Assemble and arrange cable material and equipment.
Explain and verify service orders, drawings, specifications, particular needs, and instructions.
Run, pull, stop and splice copper and fiber optic cables, such as CAT5, SE, CAT6, low voltage cables, and fiber, mount telecom equipment while adhering to best practices, industry standards, and manufacturer requirements.
Be familiar with installation of cables under a data center raised floor system.
Ensure compliance with required design safety factors, tolerances, and specifications.
Must be experienced with cabling and be conversant with the installation of copper cables. Fiber optic cables are preferred but not required.
Choose and verify cable pathways, conduct site surveys for clients, assist in designing, creating and implementing standards and specifications.
Coordinate the progress of cabling projects with third-party contractors, maintain all documents related to cabling, carry out installation of cable supports and pulling network cable pathways, testing and troubleshooting cabling issues.
Provide field measurements and report results as requested.
Manage and maintain exact inventory for parts, tools, and supplies.
Technicians should attend training meetings and learn the measures explained to them to use the essential personal protection equipment.
Must be able to collaborate and work in a team setting.
Must maintain good relations with clients by listening to and then sorting out their issues or escalating the same to their management.
5 years of work experience laying out and pulling various types of data cable such as CAT5, SE, CAT6, low voltage cables or fiber.
Must be able to pass government background check.
Preferred Skills:
Previous experience in data center environments are preferred.
Working knowledge of data cable types and specifications is preferred.
Associate's or equivalent technical degree or certificate of completion from an accredited designer/drafter course (or equivalent).

Salary Range:
$21.44 - $37.55
