Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Accountant to join our team. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Duties:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Perform general ledger accounting tasks, such as recording journal entries and reconciling accounts
- Conduct account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial data and provide insights for decision-making
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax laws
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in accounting

Brown & McCook is a tax firm that specializes in serving business owners and entrepreneurs. We are based in downtown Athens, GA. This is a full-time, in-office accounting position available for immediate fill.

Requirements:

• Must be capable of problem solving with a willingness to do what it is needed to research or use tools to figure out how to accomplish things
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in QuickBooks for multiple companies
• Experience in both QuickBooks Online and desktop
• Experience in starting accounting for company or companies from scratch
• Experience in bill pay and schedule management
• Self motivated, self starter, self accountability, and desire to learn and grow everyday
• Very good communication skills and understanding what and why behind what we do

Compensation:

• Salary with opportunities for bonus and tremendous growth
• Pay for year 1 - $50k to $75k depending on experience, volume, etc.

Pay: $41,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
