Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Preschool Director to oversee the operations of our preschool program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for young children, and leading a team of educators.
- Oversee budgeting and financial management for the preschool- Provide educational leadership by creating a curriculum that aligns with early childhood education standards- Recruit, train, and manage staff to maintain a positive and productive work environment- Collaborate with administration, parents, teachers, and community members to support the needs of the children- Ensure compliance with licensing regulations and safety standardsExperience:
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to engage with parents, staff, and children
The Preschool Director credential requirements include at least one of the following:
1. High school graduation or GED; completion, with passing grades, or 15 semester or equivalent quarter units as specified in 1A and 1B below at an approved college or university; and at least four years of teaching experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group child care program.
1A: Three of the 15 units required in administration or staff relations
1B: Twelve of the 15 units required in courses that cover the general areas of child growth and development, or human growth and development; child, family, and community, or child and family; and program/curriculum.
2. An associate of arts degree from an accredited or approved college or university with major or emphasis in early childhood or child development; and at least two years of teaching experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group child care program. Three semester or equivalent quarter units shall be in administration or staff relations.
3. A bachelor's degree from an accredited or approved college or university with a major or emphasis in early childhood education or child development; and at least one year of teaching experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group child care program. Three semester or equivalent quarter units shall be in administration or staff relations.
4. A Child Development Site Supervisor Permit or a Child Development Program Director Permit issued by the California Commission of Teacher Credentialing.
