Independent Contractor 1099 INSPECTOR (THIS ROLE IS ONLY FOR CALL OUT WORK/AS NEEDED)

Job Description for Welding Inspector:

1. Experience: Should have 5 to 10 years experience in QA/QC for Welding inspections / relevant certifications.

2. Equipment inspected: Should have done inspections on –

• Structures
• Tanks
• Pressure vessels
• Pipe fittings
• Heat Exchangers
• Valves

3. Detailed inspection experience:

• Visual and Dimensional inspection
• Read and interpret drawings, WPS, PQR
• NDT / NDE
• Welding processes (SMAW, TIG, MIG etc.)
• Knowledge of relevant ASME std. (Section 5, 8 and 9).

4. Educational Requirements: Associate degree with QA/QC experience or Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.

5. Certifications: Preferred to have CWI / AWS / CSWIP. Any qualification in NDT ASNT Level 2 or equivalent / ASME / API.

6. Additional Requirements: Should be able to prepare good Inspection reports using MS Word. Should be able to work with different reporting tools.
