Position Overview

Main Line Safety Solutions is seeking a dedicated Construction Safety Consultant (1099 contractor) for data center project in Ashburn, VA. Anticipated duration of the project is 3-6 months requiring 20-36 hours per week. The ideal candidate will possess extensive OSHA knowledge (29 CFR 1910 and 1926) and a strong background in safety management for construction environments. This role requires exceptional communication skills to regularly engage with stakeholders, a commitment to proactive safety management, and the ability to foster employee participation in resolving safety issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all contractors have successfully completed required safety training.
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety standards.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Site Supervisors to integrate safety measures into project planning and execution.
• Provide safety training to construction personnel, emphasizing compliance with safety procedures.
• Investigate and report on incidents, accidents, and near misses; analyze root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety requirements.
• Maintain and update safety documentation, including safety manuals, emergency response plans, and training materials.
• Collaborate with regulatory agencies and represent the company during safety inspections and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field is preferred.
• 7-10 years of safety consulting experience, particularly in data centers.
• In-depth OSHA standards knowledge.
• Preferred certifications: CSP, CIH, ARM, or CHST.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
• Providing OSHA-10 and OSHA-30 Hour Construction Courses is a plus.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Work on-site at Ashburn, VA site as required.
• Perform site inspections involving climbing and exposure to various conditions.
• Work at heights as necessary.

Pay: $55.00 - $85.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
