Job Description:

Our Recruiting Coordinator is a critical contributor to our HR team. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated HR professional with excellent customer service skills. There is a family dynamic at The Pond Guy that extends to our applicants as we strive to give them the highest quality service possible.

Here are some examples of the actual work your day would include.

Recruiting Tasks

  • Review applicant resumes and maintain applicant tracking and other assessment systems (ADP, ZipRecruiter, MI Talent, Indeed, etc.)
  • Source new candidates through posting open positions, passive searches, and hiring fairs
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand their staffing needs
  • Prepare interview questions, position information, and skill requirements
  • Call, email, and schedule applicants and stakeholders for interview process
  • Conduct interview process via phone, video, and face-to-face
  • Extend job offers to selected candidates and negotiate terms of employment
  • Conduct onboarding tasks
  • Assist with background/reference checks
  • Take notes during meetings, assigning tasks and deadlines accordingly
  • Stay updated on industry trends and utilize those to improve and adapt existing hiring techniques
  • Generate additional avenues for increasing candidate pool and execute those ideas

General HR Tasks

  • Create and update procedures
  • Provide training/mentoring for new HR employees
  • Support the events team with weekly break room perks (slushies, iced tea, etc.)
  • Support leadership and HR team members with new and ongoing projects to increase success of the company

Don’t know about ponds? That’s ok! You’ll be trained to be proficient in your job. We utilize an interactive combination of hands-on and visual training to ensure everyone has a full understanding of The Pond Guy’s proactive approach to pond management.

Job Requirements

To be successful in this role, you need to have a certain amount of knowledge and skills:

  • 2-4 years of experience with recruiting, interviewing, and hiring
  • Proven excellent networking skills
  • Experience with ATS or HRIS systems a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient computer knowledge in Microsoft Office
  • Hands-on mind set with ability to work in an office environment
  • High school degree, college degree preferred

This position requires manual dexterity for typing, sitting at a desk and looking at a computer screen for typing for long periods of time. In addition, portions of the training require the Recruiting Coordinator to shadow other departments that may require physical activity including lifting 25-35 pounds and standing for long periods of time.

We need a Recruiting Coordinator that has a positive attitude, and the words “can’t” and “impossible” are not a part of your vocabulary. You'll have the ability to learn quickly and retain a large amount of information and offer exceptional customer service. This person should continually add value to the organization beyond their day-to-day tasks.

Availability

The Recruiting Coordinator is an onsite position located in Armada, MI. You must be available to work an 8-hour shift between the hours of 8am and 5pm Monday – Friday with the occasional evening or Saturday for hiring events that must be done outside of normal business hours.
