Overview:
As the Purchasing Agent at Gurtz Electric Co., you will play a crucial role in overseeing the procurement of materials and services essential for our projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, exceptional negotiation skills, and knowledge of the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage purchase orders and contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Work closely with legal and project management teams to review and finalize contracts efficiently.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and monitor supplier performance to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
  • Stay updated on market trends and pricing to inform negotiation strategies effectively.
  • Identify and mitigate procurement risks, such as supply chain disruptions and market fluctuations.
  • Develop contingency plans to address potential procurement issues proactively.
  • Collaborate with project managers to identify procurement needs accurately.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure procured materials and services meet specified quality standards.
  • Assist with the generation of project submittals for basic materials.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in procurement, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Familiarity with relevant procurement regulations and practices.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Bluebeam, and other relevant software.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
