As a registered nurse - newborn nursery (RN), you will care for newborns in the well-baby nursery. You'll perform initial assessments on babies, take their vitals, weigh and measure them, monitor their temperatures, bathe them, and return them to their mothers. You'll also change diapers, help with hearing screening, assist mothers with breastfeeding or bottle-feeding and help doctors with circumcision or treating babies who are ill. You'll play an essential role in providing moral support and education for new parents.
