Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Meat Manager to oversee our meat department. As a Meat Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, freshness, and presentation of our meat products. You will also manage a team of meat cutters and provide excellent customer service.
Duties:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the meat department
- Ensure the proper handling, storage, and rotation of meat products
- Supervise and train meat cutters on proper cutting techniques and safety procedures
- Maintain inventory levels and order meat products as needed
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and guidelines
- Monitor product quality and make recommendations for improvements
- Assist customers with their meat selection and provide exceptional customer service
- Collaborate with other departments to plan promotions and special events
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and organization in the meat department
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a grocery store or food industry setting
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, food safety, and kitchen operations
- Excellent culinary skills with a focus on meat cutting and preparation
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and staff
- Strong leadership abilities with the capability to motivate and develop a team
- Knowledge of inventory management and ordering processes
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Working on weekends or rotating schedules may be required
