The Ankeny Medical Park Surgery Center (AMPSC) is seeking a Working Supervisor to demonstrate, train, and lead the team to provide outstanding patient experience through effectively running and serving the Patient Registration and business office. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in A/R, patient accounts, insurance claims and the ability to demonstrate excellence by leading a team in a healthcare setting. Do I want to do this supervisory role? The Supervisor coordinates the day-to-day activities of the front office and billing department. You will be responsible for the departments that intake registration, scheduling, third-party billing and collecting, coding, payer relations and follow-up, preparation of insurance claims denial tracking and initiating appeals. As a Supervisor, you help the Managing Director implement policies and procedures. You ensure business office activities comply with practice standards and government regulations. Your goal is to ensure the flow of the patient from point of entry to accounts receivables, is part of an ever-improving patient and physician relationship. You will have oversight of entry and adjudication of patient’s accounts. Through the partnering organization, DMOS, you will have access to peer leaders and Directors who support you such as Compliance, HR, IT and Revenue Cycle.

Can I do this job? You must be able to be curious and kind with team members. You are flexible, helpful and able to teach others through exploratory learning. You may be at a desk for long periods of time. Minimum Associate’s (or equal education) degree with three years of job-related billing experience; demonstrated ability to lead, review others work, coach, provide feedback and accept (and use) feedback is required; understanding of medical billing processes, Red Flag Rules/HIPAA compliance; Coding experience is a plus. One year of progressive supervisory experience in a medical office is beneficial. We will train candidates in our processes who have experience and passion in healthcare, so don’t be deterred. If you have a degree in healthcare administration and want to apply your knowledge of billing, this may be a good fit. You have great typing and computer skills. You can think on your feet. You use confidential information for patient care only. Patient information that gets shared in clinic, stays in clinic.
