SlowRida is a Boston-based tech startup dedicated to transforming the micro-mobility landscape through sustainable and efficient transportation solutions. As we continue to expand, we're seeking a talented Full-Stack React Development Intern to join our team and contribute to our exciting projects.

Position Overview:

As a Full-Stack Development Intern at SlowRida, you'll play a pivotal role in developing both the front-end and back-end components of our mobile applications, contributing to the seamless user experience of our micro-mobility users. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that combine technology and sustainability. You'll collaborate closely with our experienced development team, gaining hands-on experience in building cross-platform mobile applications using React Native and Node.js.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with senior developers to design, develop, and maintain both front-end and back-end components of mobile applications using React Native and Node.js

- Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.

- Translate design wireframes and mockups into high-quality, responsive UI components.

- Develop and maintain databases, servers, and application logic to support mobile app functionality.

- Optimize application performance and ensure a seamless user experience across different devices and screen sizes.

- Conduct thorough testing and debugging to identify and resolve UI/UX and back-end issues.

- Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in both back-end and front-end development, particularly in the context of mobile applications.

- Work closely with product managers, designers,and other developers to ensure seamless integration, functionality, and deployment.

Qualifications:

- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and experience with front-end development frameworks, particularly React Native

- Strong proficiency with back-end development frameworks, such as Node.js, and Express.js

- Solid understanding of UI/UX principles and best practices, with a keen eye for design and attention to detail.

- Familiarity with responsive design techniques and mobile-first development principles.

- Knowledge of RESTful APIs, asynchronous programming concepts and Google Maps API design and development principles.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot UI/UX and back-end issues effectively.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

- Passion for sustainability and interest in electric mobility is a plus.
