Anderson University’s Department of Information Technology invites applications for a full-time/part-time position as Network Technician. Under the direction and leadership of the Director of Information Systems and Network Services, the Network Technician will ensure quality and responsive services through management and delivery of ongoing preventative maintenance, assessment, and proactive monitoring. This includes maintenance and support of LAN/WAN architecture and network hardware, including firewalls, switches, and wireless access points. This also incorporates configuration enhancement and deprecation of various software and applications utilized within these systems. The successful candidate will provide technical guidance, expertise, and project management, when needed, to ensure the highest quality technology and technical services to all university faculty, staff, and students.
Knowledge equivalent to that gained through a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and two years relevant experience in networking is required. Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially is essential. Ability to effectively work with a range of technical staff to develop joint solutions needed. Familiarity with higher education processes and procedures is preferred. Those who demonstrate strong customer service, communication, and documentation skills are encouraged to apply.
