Georgia Southwestern State University is Hiring an Assistant Director of Campus Life Near Americus, GA

The Assistant Director for Campus Life is responsible for overseeing programs and services focused on the advancement of Greek Life, student leadership development and student community service and civic engagement programs. This position reports to the Director of Residential and Campus Life.
Responsibilities
Department (30%) Provide leadership and support to division and department programs and initiatives advancing Campus Life. Facilitate stakeholder meetings for planning and implementation of programs. Collaborate with individuals and departments on and off campus. Teach seminars and workshops on special topics related to leadership and services. Build and maintain relationships with campus constituencies. Supervise professional staff member and student assistants. Manage department budgets.
Greek Life (30%) Provide advising and support governing Greek Councils: NPHC, NPC, IFC, and all Greek Council. Serve as primary advisor to local Panhellenic and IFC chapters. Provide support to local NPHC chapter. Interpret university and governing body policies and procedures. Review, create, and implement department policies and procedures. Develop engaging trainings and programmatic events that enhance Greek Life experience. Communicate with chapter officers, advisors, national organization representatives, and alumni. Conduct bi-weekly one-on-one meetings with Greek chapter presidents. Collaborate with Councils to ensure sustainability of sororities and fraternities through intentional recruitment practices, new member education, cultural competence, scholarship, fiscal management, risk management and service. Administer chapter membership support services including, but not limited to, use of recruitment software, membership roster management, and grade checks. Provide annual reviews to student leaders for growth.
Leadership Development, Student Community Service and Civic Engagement Programs (20%) Coordinate leadership development programs ¿ Clifton Strengths and special topics. Assist with Canes Leading Canes selection process and program. Coordinate university sponsored service programs ¿ Constitution Day, National Day of Service, Be the Change Week, and Canes Service Day. Collaborate with campus constituents on advancing civic engagement programs. Plan and implement civic engagement programs. Manage program budgets. Supervise student workers.
Student Government (15%) Serve as primary advisor to Student Government Association. Attend weekly SGA officer and senate meetings. Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings with the SGA president. Assist with budget management, constitution interpretation, and other administrative needs. Provide advising support for SGA sponsored programs. Supervise student workers.
Performs a variety of related duties. (5%) May serve as investigator for student conduct or Title IX cases. Collaborates with Student Activities Coordinator to support RSO/Greek leadership development. May participate in the Residence Life on-call duty rotation. Participates on University and division committees and task forces. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with three or more years of work-related experience.

Supervisory Controls:
The Director of Residential and Campus Life assigns work in terms of very general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures and the nature and propriety of the final results.
Complexity/Scope of Work:
The work consists of varied duties related to Greek Life and student organization advising.
This position is expected to work evenings, weekends and overnight retreats and/or trips.
The purpose of this position is to engage students in campus life. Success in this position contributes to student retention.
Supervisory and Management Responsibility:
Supervise one full-time professional staff.
Oversight of undergraduate students employed as assistants or volunteers.
